What is rabies?
Rabies is a viral disease that affects the central nervous system and can be transmitted to humans. If contracted, rabies is typically fatal. Therefore, all dogs should be vaccinated against rabies.
Which dogs require a rabies vaccine?
All dogs over 14 weeks of age.
How often should my dog be vaccinated for rabies?
Rabies vaccines can be valid for either one or three years.
If you have a rabies certificate that proves your dog has had at least one rabies vaccine before, you can receive a three year rabies vaccine at the same cost as a one year. Rabies tags do not constitute proof of vaccination.
Please upload proof of any previous vaccinations in the online registration form. Our staff will help advise you as to what your pet needs.
What is the DHPP vaccine?
DHPP stands for Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvovirus, and Parainfluenza. The vaccination offers protection against these diseases.
The vaccination is commonly referred to as the “puppy shot” or “yearly shot”.
Which dogs require a DHPP vaccine?
All puppies and dogs.
How often should my dog receive the DHPP vaccination?
If your dog is over three years of age and has had at least two boosters of this vaccine as an adult, you can consider giving it every three years instead of yearly. Puppies should get it after the age of six weeks, once a month, until they are 16 weeks old.
Please upload proof of any previous vaccinations in the online registration form. Our staff will help advise you as to what your pet needs.

Which dogs require a leptospirosis vaccine?

The leptospirosis vaccination can be given from the age of nine weeks.
How often should my dog be vaccinated for leptospirosis?
The leptospirosis vaccine is a yearly vaccine. The vaccine can also be combined with the DHPP vaccine (DHPP-L).

What does the bordetella vaccination protect against?
The bordetella vaccination protects against a respiratory infection in dogs commonly referred to as Kennel Cough.
Which dogs require a bordetella vaccine?
Not just for dogs that board!
All puppies should receive the bordetella vaccination after nine weeks of age.
All dogs that are around other dogs (and/or if their people are around other dogs) should receive the bordetella vaccine. Activities such as daycare, grooming, hiking, doggie play dates, and more are activities that necessitate this vaccine.
How often should my dog be vaccinated for bordetella?

Cats
What is rabies?
Rabies is a viral disease that affects the central nervous system and can be transmitted to humans. If contracted, rabies is typically fatal. Therefore, all cats should be vaccinated against rabies.
What types of rabies vaccines are there?
We only offer one year rabies vaccines, but have two options. The cheaper option is the dog/cat standard rabies which, although approved, has been known to be a cause of tumors at the injection site in some cats. Therefore we offer this approved vaccine, but recommend upgrading to the Rabies PureVax vaccination which is considered safer.
Which cats require a rabies vaccine?
All cats should receive the rabies vaccine.
How often should my cat be vaccinated for rabies?
Both rabies vaccines that we offer are valid for one year.
Please upload proof of any previous vaccinations in the online registration form. Our staff will help advise you as to what your pet needs.

How often should my cat receive the FVRCP vaccine?
If your cat has had at least two adult boosters of the FVRCP vaccine, you may choose to give this vaccine every three years instead of yearly.
